April 2008

At our April meeting, we welcomed a new member, Jan West from Cascade. She's just completed a wonderful hooked rug of handspun yarn, featured a well known, but apparently transient, landmark!

July meeting

I wasn't able to attend last month's meeting, so have nothing to report on that. Tonight was the July meeting and there were a handful of us present, some knitting, some spinning. The Valley County Fair is on the horizon and will include a new fiber category this year. Here are a few pictures from this evening:

June 2007

We had a good turnout, but missed Lonna for one, who was ill. Get Well wishes are coming your way, Lonna!

Exciting news from those who attended the fiber fair in Hamilton, MT this month. Linda DeMoss' Icelandic fleeces took Grand Champion and Reserve Chamption--congratulations, Linda!

414077

And Sue Cathy won a Blue Ribbon for her Merino Tencel lace weight yarn--more congratulations are in order!

Those going to Hamilton were Merri, Eileen, Phyllis, Barbara Carol and Linda.

The weather was so nice that many of us sat outside tonight in the Keep Me In Stitches courtyard. Here's Phyllis working on some punched wool seat cushions.

Useful Links

I thought it might be helpful for us to share some online resources. Some may not be familiar with the Spinners', Weavers' and Knitters' Housecleaning Pages, where people place classifieds for used equipment. Here's another one.
If you know of other useful links, email me and I'll post them, probably in the sidebar so they don't get lost as time passes.
